Body: 

Joseph Black is Professor and Director of the Massachusetts Center for Renaissance Studies, with research and teaching interests in Renaissance non-dramatic literature and in the ‘history of the book’ across all periods. His work in digital humanities includes the online database Private Libraries of Renaissance England, a project of the Folger Shakespeare Library (Washington DC); and an online database in progress of archival and other materials related to the “Martin Marprelate” controversy (1588-89). He is also interested in ways of incorporating work with digital humanities in undergraduate and graduate classes, and in the role that work in digital humanities can play in tenure, promotion, and faculty assessment.
